It's been too long...

So much for doing this every day. Guess I got a little off track; but I'm back now :)

I feel productive in a crafty kind of way today. I was able to sew our St. Patrick's Day table cloth last night, finsih up our leprachaun trap, and decorate for this morning. Then I finally finished my first sock this evening! I'm really impressed and I hope the next one will go much faster.

I've got to get the house cleaned back up. It's a mess! And I'm behind on laundry big time. Ugh!

Well, it's late, but I wanted to update real quick. I'll be back...soon!

Happy Valentine's Day

Today was a productive day! Turkey and I went to swimming lessons. He did pretty good. This was the last class for this session. The next session starts next Monday and mom is going to have to take him (I have a doctor's appointment). I hope he doesn't throw a fit and refuse to get in the pool. I know she won't make him go if he does.

After we got home we had lunch and then I made a Valentine's Day table cloth. Super easy craft and it makes the kitchen look so festive! Then I baked a heart shaped white cake with chocolate icing, Turkey and I played with the Cricut and cut out all kinds of fun Valentine-y things, and we still had dinner on the table by the time Ben got home! Ben got me beautiful pearl earrings. I love them! I didn't get him anything and I feel bad, but he is getting a new toy in the next few days (a netduino, don't ask) so we can just say that's his gift ;)

Music class and then Bachelor with Kristi. I made 5 more heart pins while I was watching our show. Turkey is going to give each of his teachers one tomorrow. We've given away  lot of them: Miss Amy and Miss Emily at church, Miss Bertie at the Y, Miss Adrielle at music, two to Mamaw, and one to Krisit's little girl. They were really fun to make and also super easy.

Last week was really rough. I mean really rough. This week has to be better. I love my kids and I'm very happy that I get to stay home. I know that there will always be hard days, but I sure hope that they are few and far between. I still need to try to get some routines down (cleaning, laundry, grocery, etc). It's getting better, and easier...this stay at home thing. I said something about going back to work once Turkey starts school, but the more I got to thinkiong about it, the less I wanted to do it. I think I'm finally starting to fit in to my new position as Buxton Home CEO :)

Makin' Garlic and Emergency Hair Cuts

It's been an interesting day to say the least.

King had a two hour delay due to icy roads. I also got the wonderful privilege of picking him up from detention after school.

Turkey had school today, no delays there. We went to McDonald's after I picked him up. I attempted to take some pants back to Kohl's that I bought him that are too big, but he had MELT DOWN insisting that they fit him just fine. I guess I will exchange them when he is not with me.

Once we got home Turkey and I sit down to make a Valentine's Day garland. I've got step by step pictures that I will hopefully post tomorrow. It's made with toilet paper rolls painted red and shaped into hearts, beads, and embroidery floss. It turned out very cute. However, every time Turkey tries to tell someone what we made he tells them we made garlic. Gotta love it!

King was at a friend’s house most of the evening and when he came home for dinner we got a surprise. There was a huge chunk of hair missing from the back of his head and a smaller one out of the front. He and his friend thought it would be a good idea to see what would happen if they tried to use a razor to cut their hair. King did the one in the front; his friend took the chunk out of the back. It looked really bad. So, we made a quick trip to SportClips to get it fixed. His head is pretty much shaved. Thank God his hair grows fast. I just hope he doesn't get too cold!

I love my boys! I wouldn't trade them for anything. Having them around keeps me on my toes and keeps things interesting!

Slow start to the week

I've not been feeling well for the past two days. I think it's just a cold, but my ears and throat are killing me too. I've got lots of things that I need to do and want to do this week, so I'm really hoping that I'll feel better tomorrow so I can get some stuff done.

I'm hoping to make some Valentine's Day pins. Nothing like waiting till the last minute to get stuff done for the holiday :) I've also got material to make a table cloth. I'd really like to make cookies and decorate them and have a special dinner for the boys, but we'll see how that goes.

Turkey and I didn't go to swimming today. This was probably not a good call on my part. I really need to keep him going so that he will get used to it. Oh well, there's always next week!

Well, enough of my rambling. I'm going to bed and hope to feel myself tomorrow.

Bejeweled is taking over my life!

I have got to stop playing on-line games. Every time I get the chance I sit down to play a quick game of Bejeweled or Zuma. They never turn out to be a quick game. I've got to break this addiction and fast or I may never blog again, or clean my house, or play with my kids.

We had some icy weather on Monday evening and Tuesday, so King was off school Tuesday and Wednesday and Turkey was off on Tuesday.  We didn't have church on Wednesday evening, so really we've been doing a whole lot of nothing.

Tuesday I went in to the church office to help Nikki out with a few things. I think I need to make sure that I do that every so often. While it was nice to see everyone I'm so glad that I'm not there any more. I do miss work sometimes, but after just a few hours helping her out I was done. I don't know how I ever worked and got anything done at home.

King and I watched Dragon Ball Z Kai tonight. It was nice to sit with him and kind of bond over some good ol' anime. We had a few good laughs at some of the lines that were said ("You're just pure evil and I'm getting sick of it"). I would love to watch the series from the very begining, Dragon Ball through Dragon Ball Z at least. It would take for ever though!

Last night, while Turkey was taking a bath he started singing "in the city....city of Compton..." Gotta love when your four year old sings Tupac. I love how he sings when he thinks no one can hear him. He's such a funny little guy.

Well, off to watch CSI and the go read.

So, yeah

It's been a while. Get off my back :)

This past weekend was boring. Got caught up on some Grey’s Anatomy, got two of the walls in the living room painted, and that’s really about it. Sometimes quite is good.
Swimming went ok today. Turkey refused to jump in, but the teacher didn’t really push it. She had them swimming all over the pool which he loved. However, he didn’t love when she had them swimming through a hula-hoop. The hoop was close to the water surface, so they pretty much had to put their head in, he let everyone know that he DID NOT LIKE THAT! He sat on the steps and pouted for a while, but then when it was time for class to be over he asked me to get my suite on and come in with him. So we hung out in the pool for about thirty minutes before heading home.
It’s supposed to ice really bad tonight and tomorrow. Wonderful. I’m supposed to go into church to help Nikki with some stuff for parent/child dedication and mom is going to watch Turkey. I hope the roads stay ok. Ben’s car broke again so he’ll be working from home tomorrow. I hope it gets fixed and stays fixed this time.
Well, I’m going to go up to bed and read for a while.

Wine Guy and Zuma

So I started playing this Zuma Blitz game on Facebook and now I'm addicted. I haven't fiured out all the ins and outs of the game, but I do know it's fun and a huge time waster :)

I went to dinner tonight with Sheri so we could discuss Son of a Witch. We met at The Wine Guy on 256 and had a blast! We shared pizza that was all different flavors (ham and tomatoes, artichoke hearts, olives and chicken, and something else, but I don't remember what it was) and it was delicious! We also got chocolate mousse made with ice wine for desert. It was so nice to see her to catch up and talk about our book. Not much better than a great friend and great wine!

Zumba tomorrow, can't wait!
